Richard Barone
Richard Barone is the Chairman of the Mace Board of Directors. Mr Barone is also currently the Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Ancora Group of Companies, which includes the Ancora Advisors, LLC, Ancora Capital, Inc., Ancora Securities, Inc., Ancora Mutual Funds and the Ancora Foundation. Mr. Barone has been Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Ancora Group of Companies since 2001. He has over 35 years of experience in the investment industry.  Prior to establishing the Ancora Group of Companies, Mr. Barone was the Chief Executive Officer of Maxus Investment Group, which he founded in 1973.  His performance and investment strategies have received extensive coverage in publications such as Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Institutional Investor, Forbes, and on national television and radio.

John J. McCann
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. McCann has over 20 years experience and demonstrated success in the consumer products industry. Prior to joining Mace in 2012, Mr. McCann was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Fitness Quest, Inc., a privately owned company that distributes and markets home exercise and fitness products, where he managed all aspects of its operations while introducing new and innovative products. During 2002 to 2009, Mr. McCann was President and Chief Executive Officer of Saeco USA, Inc., a privately owned company that distributes and markets coffee brewing appliances.

Denis Amato
Denis Amato is Chief Investment Officer of Ancora Advisors. In addition to overseeing the investment functions of Ancora Advisors he serves as a portfolio manager for the Ancora Mutual Funds, as well as managing individual and institutional portfolios. With over 45 years of investment experience Mr. Amato has served as Chief Investment Officer for the Trust Departments of large Cleveland banks as well as Ancora’s predecessor companies Maxus and Gelfand Partners. Mr. Amato received both a BBA Magna Cum Laude and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is a former President of The Cleveland Society of Security Analysts.

Daniel V. Perella
Mr. Perella has over twenty years experience and success in developing and marketing consumer products. For the most recent ten years, Mr. Perella has been a Co-Founding Partner and the Chief Operating Officer of IdeaStream Consumer Products, LLC. IdeaStream is a privately owned company that develops and markets consumer products, such as home and office organizational filing products and protective storage cases for such items as files, cds, laptops and other personal items.

Suzanne Hopgood
Suzanne Hopgood is the founder and Managing Member of The Hopgood Group, LLC, founded in 1985, a corporate board consulting company.

She has served on the boards of six public and four private companies, serving as CEO of both public and private companies.  She has served as Chair of the Board or as a board member on defense, security, real estate investment, medical manufacturing, and hospitality companies.  She currently serves on the board of Mace Security International, Newport Harbor Corporation, and as the Governor-appointed Chair of the Capital Region Development Authority.

She speaks internationally and co-authored the award-winning Board Leadership for the Company in Crisis.

Terrance W. Gainer
Terrance W. Gainer is a senior security advisor with a distinguished 47-year career in law enforcement, security innovations, and organizational change in the United States and worldwide, most recently spearheading the security of the U.S. Capitol Building, staff, and visitors to the nation’s capital.

Chief Gainer is a past Commissioner of CALEA, a Board Member of IACP and member of the Police Executive Research Forum.

Born in Chicago, Mr. Gainer is a decorated veteran who served in Viet Nam and retired as a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve. His degrees include a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a Master of Science in Management, a Juris Doctor degree, and an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters. He is married and has six children and 14 grandchildren.

Carl J. Grassi
President of McDonald Hopkins, LLC, a Cleveland headquartered full-service law firm.  Mr. Grassi has been with the firm since 1992.  He is a certified public accountant and a member of the 50 Club of Cleveland.  Mr. Grassi serves as corporate counsel and business advisor to middle-market and growth companies.  He has extensive experience assisting clients in areas of complex mergers and acquisitions, choice of entity planning, business succession planning, financing and structuring ESOPs, executive compensation and tax planning, creation of family limited partnerships, formation and use of limited liability companies and IRS controversies.

Other Directorships: Chairman of Board of Trustees of Greater Cleveland Sports Commission; Director BVU The Center for Nonprofit Excellence; Director Greater Cleveland Film Commission; Former Chairman and board member of Lake Erie College and former director of the Cleveland Chapter of ORT America.
